Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the traditional owners, the Gunditjmara people, on whose land we learn, work and play. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their elders- past, present and emerging believing that we can walk together for a better future.
Principal's Report
Welcome back everyone! I hope you have all had a restful and relaxing holiday break. It was wonderful to hear all the children back at school today, cathing up with their friends and telling stories about their holiday adventures. We cannot wait to see what learning and growth that we can achieve this term.
As much as it pains me to say but congratulations to all of our magpies supporters on your AFL grandfinal win. It seemed that black and white had become part of our school uniform, especially for staff, today.
A remider for all students that school hats must be worn in the playground during term 4. Children who arenot wearing a hat will be required to stay in the undercover area. Hats can be purchased from the office for $10.
Please read below some information regarding our dates for the end of the school year. These have changed slightly from the dates we put out earlier in the year. We wanted to make families aware as early as possible.
Just a reminder to our families that links to the newsletter (including the archive of previous newsletters), the calendar, CDFPay nad PAM can be found on the home page of our website. https://www.asportland.catholic.edu.au/ . I encourage families to keep an eye on the calendar for any dates of upcoming events.
We look forward to working with families and students for a successful term 4.

Physical Education & Sports Report
CRICKET
Wednesday week 10, our girls and boys cricket teams travelled to Henty Park to put our Physical Education learnings into action at the district championships. Both teams did their PE teacher proud!!
BOYS
The boys started off winning a very tight one against South Portland PS, before romping home against Bundarra and qualifying for the final against Portland Primary School. Confidence was high after building a reasonable innings with the bat and only losing a couple of wickets. Angus Smith in particular, did a great job keeping the scoreboard ticking over. Our opening bowlers did a great job taking a few wickets and keeping the Portland Primary batters at bay, however after that, Portland Primary started to repeated boundaries to run away with a 30 run win. Well done to the boys, who all did an amazing job, particularly our first time cricketers.
Game 1 All Saints 127 def South 124
Game 2 All Saints 217 def Bundarra 48
Grand Final Portland Primary 177 def All Saints 147
GIRLS
Our girls team did an amazing job, losing only to eventual winners Rurals (Narrawong, Bolwarra & Dartmoor). All Saints did a fantastic job, outscoring Rurals with the bat, however a very good opening bowling spell from Bolwarra’s Arlee Wilson was the difference, who took a heap of wickets with some dead-eye bowling. With each wicket adding 5 runs to your teams total, wickets made a huge difference. Highlights for All Saints included the camaraderie amongst the team as well as first time cricketer Ruby Rowe’s impressive skills with the bat and ball.
Game 1 Rurals 111 def All Saints 105
Game 2 All Saints 81 def South 62

Child Safety & Wellbeing
Child Safety
Child Safe Standards (eleven in total) came into effect in July last year and are a vital part of what we do here at All Saints. More information about these standards can be found here:

Praying With Children
27th Sunday in Ordinary Time 8 October 2023 - Year A
“A landowner leased his vineyard to other farmers.”
Something to Think About: God has given us the world to look after and ‘cultivate’. What are we doing to care for the world? What are we doing to care for the people of the world who have less than we do?
The Story: In today's gospel, the vineyard represents the Jewish nation. The owner is God. The servants
represent the prophets sent by God to challenge and call back those who have lost their way.
Many of these prophets were killed. The son who finally comes is of course Jesus!
